Merry Christmas! I Mean, Happy New Year!!!

January 1, 2008

It’s 2008. It will now take me around four to five months to get used to writing that as the year. By the time I get used to it, it will be next year.!

It is also snowing off and on outside. Awesome!

Sad? Yes.

December 27, 2007

Sometimes, people just can’t let go. They just can’t forget.

Sometimes, someone that you dated for several months over five years ago, won’t let go.

Sometimes, that person just keeps trying to butt in, keeps trying to make themselves feel better (I can only assume) by picking on someone that they said they cared about once upon a time.

Now, it’s really sad because it wasn’t a great relationship and it was just a high school thing, but this guy can not leave me alone.

I don’t know if it’s because you still “like” me or not, but your attempts at whatever you are trying to do are pointless.

We dated in high school.

We dated for around seven to eight months.

We never had sex, we never did anything.

I dated a lot of guys in high school.

I dated guys for longer than you.. And you know what? When it was over with them, they got over it and moved on.

Obviously, this is something that you cannot do.

Get your own life, find something better to do.

I just wish you luck at this, because if I’ve been on your mind for all these years, it must be so hard to forget me.

Gifts?

What did you get?

I ended up getting clothes, as usual, and some money–which is completely normal and what I get every year from different people.

J. got a new George Forman Grill, the G5. It’s pretty nice and I know how to use it already. Makes nice eggs, though they look like rubber.

I wasn’t online for most of the weekend, but I have gotten my sleeping back on a halfway decent schedule. At least now I wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night.. Though I woke up at 4AM and went to sleep around 8PM. Eh, it’s better than it was and I guess I can’t complain much about it.

Maple is outside already. Before the sun came up, I had J. put her out before he left to go practice some welding today. She likes playing in the frost and she really liked the little bit of snow we had a couple of weeks ago. She’s a weird puppy.

We got the mice two new cages over the weekend, which are pretty nice. I’ll be uploading the pictures of them shortly, because they are very pretty. We also separated them a couple of days ahead of schedule because the boys were acting up and going after their sisters. As soon as they tried it, we took them out and put them in their own cage.

I really don’t have much to talk about, seriously. I’m just sitting here trying to remember why I wanted to post anyway, but I can’t much remember. Oh well.

In any case, I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday!

It’s Windy.

December 23, 2007

I wish it would snow though.

Anyway, I’m thinking about going to sleep soon. For over a week I’ve been sleeping during the day and staying up at night, but I’m not a nocturnal person–I just have not been able to sleep that well and now my sleeping pattern is out of whack.

Not to mention it makes me feel horrible, but if I do manage to make it outside during the day I feel so much better. Maybe I need more sunlight, or at least the vitamins from it.

What an awesome combination.

Anyway, I’ve been working online the most of the day–which for me is between 4PM and, well, now–and I’ve gotten a little bit accomplished.

For one, I found a little place for hosting my mousery for free, which is sweet. Then I’ve just been working on the different parts of it, like the new forums and the website that isn’t just a blog for it.

Besides that, we’ll be cleaning the cages this weekend. They were supposed to be cleaned today/tonight, but I need to go get bedding first. There is only enough to fill one cage, not all four.

We also need to get another cage or two. Two would be best, but one would do for the time being. That and more food of course. We currently have a breeding pair in a smaller cage than the rest of them, and I’m planning on leaving the male there and giving the female the treehouse to have her litter.

The only reason why we need a couple more cages is because of the litter that we have now that starts to be seperated next week.

Wee.

The Internet is the Evilest Thing Invented–At Least Dial-Up is.

December 21, 2007

Seriously. Our regional provider is shit. They constantly go down and their servers don’t respond half of the time. Gah, they are nothing but a huge pile of cords–believe me, I’ve seen it.

The entire system is based out of the local high school and is hidden in the back of the library. One wall is nothing but telephone cords connected to old modems. Those then connect to the main system, which is less than a T1 connection.

Now, to explain that a little better, let me explain: Several thousand users have this service. Those users have the ability to dial-up from multiple lines using the same account. This means that a whole family with several phone lines can been taking up a large amount of the bandwidth and keeping others from connecting.

Also, since there are a limited amount of connection points, during busy internet usage hours–from 4PM to 10PM here–it is hard to connect. On top of that, during the summer when children are out of school more are online and holiday shoppers continue to stay online all night long to get things at the last minute.

That means that this time of year when the kids get out of school and Xmas is almost here, it is almost impossible to get online during the day. I’ve even been having trouble with it at all hours of the night and morning, as more and more users connect randomly because they are getting presents and emails.

So, it’s been hell. I want DSL, simply because I upload tons of stuff and the only thing that it would really effect [compared to broadband] would be my first-person shooter games on the pings. Even then, they would be better than what I get now.

Anyway, I finished quite a bit on the mousery page, compared to all the issues I’ve been having. I did a lot of the work in between dialing and connectivity, with saves every time I could get online.

The new cat, Cecilia, is laying next to me on the bed. She is rather proud of herself since she caught three wild mice today. She is still hunting. I couldn’t kill one of them that she mauled and left alive, though she was a rather old female and in pain. I had to have J. do it for me. (I actually cried a little, it was so sad to see that poor mouse.)

Well, just don’t forget that the site is here now and I won’t be updating the .com till it is switched over. After that, this will just be a backup blog in case something happens again. Until the end of the year, the .com will be up for those who have not noticed that I’ve moved. Actually, it will probably be down a little bit before the end of the year, just so you all know.

Closer to the Holiday Season.

December 20, 2007

Is it winter yet? I wish it was. It has snowed here once and may possibly again Sunday, but who knows if that will stick?

Anyway, I’ve been working on another little site, also hosted here, for our mousery. It is called What the Cat Dragged In, and you can find it at WhatCat.WordPress.com. It has photos, blog entries, and–soon–information about the mice. It’s still a “work in progress,” so give a girl a break.

So, we’re working on the mice, have a new cat, and, as sorry as I am to say this, Bill passed away on the 4th of November. Maple was sad and depressed for quite some time, but she is better about being alone outside, though I’m sure she would love to have another kitty again. Unfortunately, all of our cats are terrified of her and she doesn’t have any new feline friends.

What else? Hell, I have no idea. I had thought out what I was going to type, but then when I opened the page–BOOOOOM!–it’s all gone.

Well, I do know that I was going to mention the current theme. I like it, actually, and I’ll probably keep it up till after the New Year, simply because it fits the whole season of winter. Speaking of, what happened to the winters that I remember from childhood? Anymore, they just suck.

I love hippy free men music. (Sorry for the random add-in, but an info-mercial for 60’s & 70’s music is on.)

Some Issues.

December 19, 2007

Well, please ignore the little bits of uselessness that appears at the bottom of some of the old posts. Also, please understand that the comments become part of the post when you backup then restore them, so that explains that part. Next, all of my old categories are gone and I’ve decided not to bother with them anymore. I spent so much time working on them last time, but I am not going through 130+ posts and fixing it, so they are done.

I do have to give props to the backup software that I used, Blog Backup Online. It’s free up to 50 megs, so it is really quite nice and works very well for even someone that has no idea how it works. You can backup however many blogs you need to as well, which is another plus.

Another set of props goes to WordPress for being a team player. If you use them for free on their site it is about the same as hosting it yourself–give or take. Sure, you can’t customize it half as much, but what can you expect for free? Honestly, I thought the free service would suck but it is by far better than I ever thought it would be. I will be using this program again for blogging on the new host, no doubt.

Other than that, my AdSense is unusable for the time being since I am on a free host, but if you ever feel the need to donate, please send some cash my way via PayPal to: 32degressF [at] gmail [dot] com. Hopefully, you know how it really goes on there, but spam bots don’t. Good for me.
